Below is information on applying for a grant for a lace front wig.
National Alopecia Areata Foundation
My Trendy Place / Houston Lace Front Wigs is proud to announce an organization that provides grants to individuals with alopecia. For additional information visit the National Alopecia Areata Foundation at www.naaf.org.
Please Note: When you loss your hair due to medical reasons such as loss due to a medical condition such as alopecia, lupus, or the effects of chemotherapy request a prescription from your physician for a "full cranial prosthesis" which is the appropriate term for insurance company reimbursement. Your hair prosthesis may also be a tax deductible medical expense.
In order to request a grant the following criteria must be met:
• A diagnosis of Alopecia Areata
• Document of financial hardship
A committee will review your application and may award you up to $500 if deemed eligible. To find out if you qualify, please contact them below:

American Cancer Society
If your insurance does not cover the full cost of your wig or only covers partial cost of your wig, you may quality for an allotment through the American Cancer Society.
If you meet certain financial guidelines, American Cancer Society has a program available to assist you in purchasing a wig. The American Cancer Society will issue you a voucher up to $75 to help cover the cost of your wig.
Be sure to apply first before purchasing a wig, as awards are not available post-purchase. To inquire about getting financial assistance for your wig purchase, you can contact the American Cancer Society below:
